Here's what we've been up to lately…

• Renovating our future home in the historic gas-o-meter building at 150 Manton Avenue in Olneyville into community studio and exhibition space.

• Presenting the year-long rotating outdoor exhibition, Work By Women Billboard Project, coming in November 2009.

• Partnering with local businesses for our series of fundraisers, Hive O'Clock Happy Hour Workshops. End your day with art. Shake off the workday, have a drink, and make something cool. Hive O'Clock is the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 5:30-7pm - see our homepage for this month's location.

•All About YOU! on Tuesday October 27th from 4:00-5:30 at Providence Public Library, 150 Empire Street. All About YOU! is a panel about women's colleges for college bound women of all ages. Free and open to the public.

•SubText: a feminist discussion group next meeting will be on Thursday, November 5th from 7-9pm. Email us for location, readings, and directions. SubText is free and open to everyone.

•LunaFest Friday, December 11th from 5-8pm at The Spot on Thayer Street. Film Festival of short films by women filmmakers. Tickets are $20. Email us to reserve tickets or to sponsor the event!

•In Your Face! Portraits by Women and Girls Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 5-8pm at The Eco Offices at 28 Wolcott Street in Providence. This is a free and unjuried show open to all women and girls. See our homepage to download the call or email us for more details.

•Women's History Month is March 2010 and The Hive has several exciting events lined up including, "You're Not The Boss of Me" Plays with Manton Avenue Project (March 26-28) and a Hive Exhibition at Providence City Hall (opening on Gallery Night, March 18).
